Introduction

Welcome to the Preschool Gymnastics Course! Here is some quick info to get you started and your child on their way to becoming a gymnast!

Requirements

This course was designed for you child to be able to follow along on their own. It requires little, if any, parental participation, so sit back and do your thing while your child gets fit! Your job, as the parent/guardian, is to read each class's PDF to see if there's anything you may need to help, or watch out for, in each class. Although no specialty equipment is required, a towel is needed starting in the third video.

Set-Up

Please make sure that you have a soft surface for your child to follow along. Carpet is good, but if you have hard floors put down a yoga mat or thick blankets (that don't slide) for them. Better yet, get them a gymnastics mat!

Time Frame

Once you buy the course you get complete access to all of the videos and materials. Watch them as fast or as spread out as your child wants. Don't be surprised if your child wants to watch the videos and does not participate yet - some kids learn more visually and will pick it up that way! You own the videos for life so feel free to watch them over and over.

Goals

Children will all learn differently, based on their age, previous abilities, enjoyment of gymnastics, and more. The specific skills taught that many kids will be able to preform upon completion are:

  • Log Roll
  • Forward Roll (Somersault)
  • Donkey Kick
  • Cartwheel
  • Bridge
  • Straight, Tuck, and Straddle Jumps
  • Leap
  • Tripod Headstand

In addition to the gymnastics skills, kids will also:

  • Learn basic body positions (tuck, straddle, pike, straight, etc.)
  • Work on listening skills
  • Build strength
  • Build flexibility
  • Build coordination
  • Have fun!
